What Is Shower Rat? This Video Of A Rodent Bathing Like A Human

Rats, they're just like us. At least in the shower. If you're not in the know, and you're wondering: What is the shower rat? There's a rat that showers like a human, and Twitter is obsessed. OK, I'll admit it, rats are not my jam. I have a serious rodent phobia, but the video of the shower rat melted even my rodent-hating heart. While they're usually known for spreading disease, running amok on city streets, and invading homes, it's clear that even rats like a good shower every now and then.

Seriously, this is the best press rats have ever gotten, and perhaps if more rats took showers people might change their opinion of them. Others agreed that the rat shower was most likely staged, i.e. the rat's owner soaped it up so it would have to shower. I guess whatever you need to do to get your rat to take a bath, right? And despite my aversion to rats, I really hope this little bugger wasn't harmed for the sake of Twitter oohs and ahhs.
